Will go down as one of the best Colonels teams to ever take the gridiron...won the MAC title by going 8-0 and were awarded the Lambert Bowl as the best Small College football team in the East...averaged 17.5 points per game offensively and held opponents to 4.9 points per contest…this team featured offensive lineman Bruce Comstock, halfback Paul Purta, linebackers Al Yatko, Bill Layden, and Brinley Varchol, defensive tackle Dennis Spence, safety Joe Wiendl…the defense allowed only 622 passing yards during entire season.
