HARRISBURG – Douglas Taylor (Wyalusing, Pa./) shot a two-day total of 158 to lead Wilkes University to a fourth place finish at the Freedom Conference Championship. The Colonels had a combined total of 661, just one stroke behind third place finisher Manhattanville.
Taylor along with
Sean Madden (Dunmore, Pa./) was honored by the league, as Madden was named to the all-conference second team after his combined total of 163. Taylor finished fifth overall, while Madden closed out the tournament in ninth place.
FDU-Florham won conference title with a 36-hole total of 637 and had the tournaments top-two finishers in David Suarez and Pat Walsh. Suarez was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Year while Walsh was named to the all-conference first team.
Jamie Montville (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) and
Michael Turano (Browndale, Pa./) finished in a tie for 22nd for Wilkes with a total of 170, while Brian Williams finished in a tie for 36th with a score of 177.
King's College finished second overall with a total of 655, while Manhattanville was third with a 660. Eastern finished right behind Wilkes with a 667 while Misericordia finished sixth with a 676.
