As the No. 7 seed Butka won his Round of 16 bout in Session One Friday by a 4-1 decision over Dylan Harr of Johnson & Wales University. Butka then cemented All-American status with a Session Two 8-6 decision over No. 2 seed Coy Spooner of the United States Coast Guard Academy in the Quarterfinals Friday night. The junior dropped his Semifinal bout in Session Three Saturday in a tight 4-3 decision to No. 3 seed Gabriel Zierden of Concordia-Moorhead before defeating Harr again by an 8-6 decision in the Consolation Semifinals. Butka dropped the Third-Place match to Montgomery Mills of Westminster College to finish in fourth. He was the ninth All-American for the program since 2007 and the first since 2015. Butka finished the year 3-2 at the national tournament and 39-4 overall.
