 Box Score

Wilkes
University and King's College played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer, but neither team was able to score as the two teams settled for a 0-0 double-overtime Wednesday night.

In regulation, both teams failed to capitalize on the few scoring chances each had. Wilkes nearly pulled out the win with 1:33 left in the second half when a shot by Doug Moore (Doylestown, Pa./New-Hope Solebury) hit the outside of the right post. After 90 minutes of regulation, Wilkes held a slim 7-6 advantage in shots.
In the first overtime session neither team managed a legitimate scoring chance, sending the contest into the final 10 minutes of play. King's was unable to make good on the best chance for either team when Wilkes goalie TJ Baloga (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) was able to make a lunging save on a shot by King's Dan Carle with just under five minutes left.

King's held an 11-7 advantage in shots during the game as well as a 9-3 lead in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Tim Kelly made three saves while Baloga had seven for the Colonels.

The outcome marks the second time Wilkes has finished in a tie and is now 8-6-2 overall and 5-1-1 in Freedom Conference matches.
