The Wilkes University wrestling team enjoyed an outstanding day at the fourth annual John Reese Duals hosted by the Colonels in the Marts Center on Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes, who came in ranked 25th in Division III, posted an unblemished 4-0 record on the day. The Colonels opened with a 23-12 victory over Centenary College before registering a 35-9 win over Baldwin-Wallace College in their second contest. In their third match, Wilkes kept up their strong showing with a 39-9 decision over the University of Scranton, before capping off the event with a 21-16 win over the College of Mt. Saint Joseph.
Shaun Farnham (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) (125) and
Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (141) scored wins by major decisions in the victory over Centenary.

Against Baldwin-Wallace, E. Smith (149) registered a win by fall while
Andrew Feldman (Shavertown, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) (285) was awarded a forfeit victory. Technical falls were earned by Farnham (125) and Heffernan (174) in their bouts,
Chris Smith (Wantage, NJ/High Point) (197) took a major decision and
Josh Pauling (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) (133), Dattolo (141), and
Richard Sparks (Pittsgrove, N.J./Arthur P Schalick) (157) each posted wins by decision.
The Colonels received five wins by fall in their match with Scranton, which were registered by Farnham (125), Donny Clark (141),
Tom Andresen (Drexel Hill/Upper Darby) (149), C. Smith (197), and
Jake Weinrich (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) (285).
Devin Sassone-McHugh (Soundbeach, N.Y./Miller Place) (184) captured a technical fall in his bout, while Histed (165) rounding out the Wilkes scoring with a major decision.
In the final match of the day, Smith (285) capped off the Colonel victory by scoring the only fall for Wilkes in the match. Farnham (125), E. Smith (149), and Heffernan (174) earned major decision wins, while William Gouger (184) won by decision.
Wilkes will return to action next Saturday when they host NYU and McDaniel in a tri-match that is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
