ST. DAVIDS – The Wilkes offense was never able to establish itself as the Lady Colonels managed a season-low 13 kills in their 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-9) loss to top-seeded Eastern in the Freedom Conference Championship semifinal game. 

           
While Wilkes was having trouble getting its offense off the ground, Eastern pounded out 45 kills with just 11 errors to improve to 32-1 on the year. The Lady Colonels run through the league championship marks the first time they have reached the semifinal game of the Freedom Conference Tournament in school history. 

           
Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had a team-high four kills on the night, while Katherine Harrington (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette Central) had three. Defensively, Kaitlyn McGurk (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) had a team-high 13 digs, while Allison Kelleher (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) chipped in with 10. 

           
Wilkes finished its season with a 12-19 overall record and winners of three of its last four matches.
