WILKES VOLLEYBALL WINS ONE, DROPS ONE IN FINAL DAY OF KING'S TOURNAMENT

The Lady Colonels post a 2-2 record in the season-opening tournament

Wilkes sophomore Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) totaled 23 kills and had eight service aces and was named to the all-tournament team at the King's College Volleyball Tournament.  

The Colonels (2-2) opened the day with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-15) win over Mt. St. Mary's but fell to host King's 3-1 (24-26, 19-25, 25-23, 13-25).  

In the first match, Harrison had eight kills on 14 total attacks as well as picking up service aces in the win.  Junior outside hitter Julie Page (New Milford, Pa./Blue Ridge) had 12 kills with just three errors in 21 total attacks to lead the way offensively for the Lady Colonels.  

In the second against King's, Harrison had 15 kills with just four errors in 25 total attacks as well as two more service aces.  Two other players reached double-digit kills with Katherine Harrington (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette Central) leading the way with 16 while Kaitlyn McGurk (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) added 11.  

The Lady Colonels will be back in action Wednesday when they host Susquehanna at 7 p.m. in the Marts Center.
