CLARKS SUMMIT – The Wilkes University men's soccer team recorded its fourth shutout of the year with a 5-0 win over Baptist Bible, snapping a two-game losing skid.  

           
The Colonels out-shot Baptist Bible 29-5 and had an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks. Bret Osswald (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) put Wilkes on the board with a goal at the 9:04 mark on an assist by Arthur Jankowski (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood). Just under 20 minutes later, Rusty Helwig (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal after beating goalkeeper Andrew Cartledge on a one-on-one. 

           
Ryan Phillips (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale)' goal at the 58 minute mark made it 3-0 before Sean Lucey scored at the 73 minute mark on a pass from Ed Zulkoski (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood). Matt LaRocca (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) finished up the scoring for the Colonels at the 84 minute mark on an unassisted goal. 

           
The Colonels improved to 4-4 overall and all four wins have been shutouts.
