The Wilkes University men's soccer team was handed their first conference loss on Saturday, falling to Manhattanville 3-0 in Freedom Conference action.

All of the offensive action occurred in the first half as the Valiants scored three goals in the first 37 minutes. In the 10th minute J.P. Arenas found Mitchel Ghiggia for Manhattanville's first score, and ensuing goals by Sebastian Chica and Marco Blasetti put the score out of reach with over half the game left.

The Valiants fired 23 shots in the game, 15 of which were on goal. Wilkes would only get off three shots on the day.

With the loss Wilkes falls to 1-1 in Freedom Conference play, and will look to bounce back against Misericordia this Tuesday, Oct. 13. That game will being at 7:00 p.m. in Dallas, Pa.
