Box Score

ST. DAVID'S – The Colonels recorded just five total shots and surrendered three goals on Saturday as they were handed their first Freedom Conference defeat at Eastern. Two second half goals by the Eagles sealed the 3-0 victory.

In the first half the Eagles were the first to strike, as in the 17th minute Eastern scored on a 20 yard shot and took a 1-0 lead. That's how the score would end up in the first period, as Wilkes was unable to get off a shot against the Eagle defense.

In the second half Eastern added onto their lead within the first two minutes, scoring another goal and building a comfortable 2-0 lead. The Eagles tacked on another goal late in the contest, sealing the 3-0 victory and handing the Colonels their first Freedom Conference loss.

Ed Zulkoski (Mountaintop, Crestwood) was the only Colonel with multiple shots, while Kaleb Smith (Beavertown, Midd-West) recorded two saves.

Wilkes will now host DeSales University on Tuesday, Oct. 12. That game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
