AT A GLANCE
The Lady Colonels look to bounce back as they go on the road for the second of two early season Freedom Conference games, traveling to Madison, NJ to take on FDU-Florham. WU will look to break a three-game losing streak to the Devils, last winning on Jan. 10, 2009.

LAST TIME OUT
WU got down early at Misericordia, as the Cougars scored the game's first 18 points and Christine Marks scored 30 points and grabbed 25 rebounds en route to a 78-46 win over the Lady Colonels.

The Lady Colonels tried to rally, cutting the deficit to 13 points two seperate times, but Marks and the Cougars were too much, as they pulled away in the second half for the victory.

Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) finished with 19 points, adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists. So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) scored 10 points, while Fr. G Helen Lawry (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake) posted season-highs in minutes (22), points (8) and rebounds (3).

THE CAPTAINS
The Lady Colonels are captained by the trio of Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose), Sr. G Erin Schneider (Colchester, CT/Holy Name) and Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty), the only junior of the group.

Ely brings her all-around game back to the Lady Colonels for her final season, as she has 63 games and 54 starts under her belt. Starting 20 of 25 games a season ago, she was 3rd on the team in minutes with 27.0 mpg.

Schneider, the 2nd senior captain, is also one of the most experienced Lady Colonels. Playing in 61 career games, she has logged nearly 1,000 minutes on the court for Wilkes.

The lone junior for the Lady Colonels, Connolly has played in 49 games at Wilkes, getting 23 starts a season ago, averaging 27.4 mpg.

THE SCORER
So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) is off to a slow start this season after leading the Lady Colonels in scoring as a freshman last year, netting 11.5 ppg in her 26.6 mpg of action.

Scoring a season-high 12 points against Western New England, Kazmerski has found other ways to help WU, getting 17 rebounds in the season's first two games and at least 2 steals in each contest so far. This season she's averaging 5.6 rpg and has a team-leading 13 steals.

Kazmerski opened her career by scoring 14 points in just 15 minutes off the bench against Hazleton last year. She hit double figures 18 more times during the season, including 18 points in her first start against Misericordia and a season-high 22 at Baptist Bible.

With a 40.7 FG%, Kazmerski went 118-290 from the floor and was also 2nd on the team with 6.6 rpg, including 57 offensive boards (2.3 pg).

ALL-AROUND THREAT
One of the most versitile players for the Lady Colonels, Ely is averaging 5.4 ppg and 7.6 rpg while collecting 10 steals and 9 assists. Getting her 2nd career double double against Western New England with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, she also added 3 steals and 2 assists for the Lady Colonels.

Last year Ely was 3rd on the team with 27.0 mpg and 4.5 rpg, Ely scored 4.9 ppg and had 39 assists and 39 steals. The senior also went 30-43 (69.8%) from the foul line.

She scored in double-figures four times and had back-to-back games of 10 boards, including a double-double (13 pts, 10 rebs) in 40 minutes against Delaware Valley. She has 120 career assists, including a team-high 63 as a sophomore in 2008-09.

HITTING DOUBLE-FIGURES
Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) has scored in double figures 34 times in her career, including 19 points in the Freedom Conference opener at Misericordia. She netted 22 in the season opening win over PSU Hazleton.

She scored a career-high 33 points on 11-23 shooting in 31 minutes against Arcadia as a sophomore and then later dropped 22 points on 8-13 FGs against Keystone, hitting double-figures 10 times that season.

She's finished in the top three on the team in scoring each year on campus, leading the team with 11.3 ppg as a sophomore in 2008-09.

QUICK STARTS
Lynam has been been successful in the early season during her time with the Lady Colonels. In the season's first three games, she's averaging 14.4 ppg in just 22.4 mpg, including a career-high 33 points at Arcadia in the first game of her sophomore season.

RUNNING THE POINT
Running the point again this year is So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer), who has 9 assists and 8 steals in four games this season. She's also 3rd on the team with 7.2 ppg, hitting 50.0% (11-22) from the field.

She had her best game of the young season against MIT, tying a career-high with 12 points on 5-10 shooting, adding 4 rebounds and turning it over just once in 36 minutes on the court.

Starting 25 games as a freshman last year, Pawlowski debuted with 6 points, 4 assists and had a season-high 7 steals in 23 minutes in the win over PSU Hazleton.

Pawlowski led Wilkes in assists nine times last season, getting at least 1 in every game. She also added 31 steals, 4th on the team, including 10 games of at least 2 swipes.

FROM THE FOUL LINE
Lynam and Pawlowski were 1st and 2nd on the team in terms of free throw percentage last year, as they combined to hit 81.8% from the charity stripe.

With an 83.9 FT%, Lynam went 26-31 in her 16 games, including a 5-5 game against Cedar Crest. Pawlowski finished the season 37-46 (80.4%), going 11-13 in her final four games. Through three games this season, they are a combined 15-18 (83.3%).

STEPPING UP
Stepping into a full-time starter's role this year, Schneider has produced, ranking 2nd on the team with 7.8 ppg and 1st with 10 assists. She's also gone 8-25 (32.0%) from 3-point range and has 4 steals.

Schneider scored a season-high 17 points against MIT, going 6-11 from the field and 4-7 from 3 in 30 minutes.

GETTING OFFENSIVE
After scoring 5.3 ppg last year, Connolly has started to improve her offensive game, averaging 8.7 ppg over a three-game stretch. This includes a 12-point, 5-12 FG performance against MIT, where she also added 8 rebounds.

Through five games, Connolly is averaging 6.0 ppg and 4.4 rpg, adding 8 assists and 7 steals.

PROVIDING A SPARK
So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) has given the Lady Colonels an energy off the bench, scoring 6.0 ppg and grabbing 4.2 rpg. She has proven she can score, netting a career-high 13 points in just 24 minutes against Western New England and has a 34.5 FG% (10-29).

She also also given the Lady Colonels a rebounding presence, getting at least 5 in three of five games, including 7 in 22 minutes against PSU Hazleton. In her first start of the season, Palmerio had 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals against Marywood.

OFF THE BENCH
So. F Sam Rohn (Levittown/Neshaminy) and Fr. G Helen Lawry (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake) have given the Lady Colonels extra minutes off the bench this year, as Rohn averages 12.8 mpg and Lawry 18.7 mpg.

Rohn came off the bench to grab 5 boards against PSU Hazleton and scored 4 points against MIT. Playing in a season-high 22 minutes at Misericordia, Lawry scored 8 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.

PLAYING “D”
WU ranks in the top five in the Freedom in three of the six major
defensive categories. Allowing just 63.0 ppg through five contests, the Lady Colonels average 18.6 forced turnovers, getting 10.0 steals, and allow opponents just a 38.0 FG%.
