Box Score

ASTON – Michael Turner (Hudson, Coughlin) scored two goals but it wasn't enough as Wilkes University fell to Neumann University 3-2 in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon in Aston, Pa.

The Knights (2-0) jumped out to a quick lead, getting a goal from Evan Morgan just two minutes into the game. They would go up on the Colonels by two just four minutes later when Andrew Leissing found the back of the net.

The Wilkes offense stayed active, and in the 33rd minute got a goal from Turner, bringing the deficit back to one. The Colonels (0-2) struck again 27 minutes later, getting Turner's third goal of the season to knot the score at two with 30 minutes remaining in the contest.

After a Wilkes yellow card, Neumann took advantage with a penalty kick by Leissing, his second goal of the game, to put the Knights up by one with 21:25 left.

The Colonels put the pressure on Neumann as Ed Zulkoski (Mountaintop, Crestwood) got a shot off in the 83rd minute, but it sailed wide.

Kaleb Smith (Beavertown, Midd-West) started and went the entire way in goal for the Colonels, saving seven shots.

Wilkes returns to the pitch next Wednesday, traveling to Allentown to take on Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m.
