ALLENTOWN – The Wilkes University men's soccer team headed to Allentown, Pa. on Wednesday night in search of their first victory of the season against Muhlenberg College. After 90 minutes of soccer, the Colonels found themselves still winless on the season, falling to the Mules by a score of 4-0.
In the first period Wilkes was able to fend off the aggressive attack of the Mules, as Muhlenberg was able to get off 11 shots in the half, three of which were on goal but saved by
Kaleb Smith (Beavertown, Midd-West).
In the second period it was a different story, as in a 15 minute period the Mules were able to pierce the Colonel defense four times. Meanwhile, Wilkes was only able to get off two shots the entire contest, neither of which was on goal.
Wilkes will look to bounce back when they head to York, Pa. to take on McDaniel. That game will begin at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.
