WILKES-BARRE – Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) and Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) each had two pins while the Colonels surrendered only 18 total points on the day, defeating Gettysburg, RIT, and Trinity in a quad match on Sunday at the Marts Center.

In the first match Wilkes had Gettysburg as an opponent. The Colonels had four pins in the contest, with Phil Racciato (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl), Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh), Nick Lynch (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) and Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) all collecting falls. Wilkes only had one loss in the 10 bouts and defeated the Bullets 47-5.

In the second match Wilkes faced off against RIT. Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) starting things off with a major decision, and the Colonels never looked back. Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) and Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) each collected pins, while Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) and Dustin Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) joined Mendoza with major decisions as well. Wilkes cruised to a 43-3 victory.

In its last match of the afternoon Wilkes took on Trinity, which had won its previous two contests. After a forfeit win for Mendoza, Wilkes pinned three of the next four Bantams to jump to a 27-0 lead. Griffin Panicucci (Wantage, NJ/High Point), Shane Everett (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley), and Dattolo each collected pins for Wilkes, while Ben Marich (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) had a major decision. In its last match of the day, Wilkes defeated Trinity 34-10.

With the three victories Wilkes moves to 14-7-1 on the season. Its next match will be against Scranton on Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Marts Center. That contest will begin at 7:00 p.m.
