WILKES VOLLEYBALL FINISHES PLAY AT NEUMANN INVITATIONAL SUNDAY

ASTON, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team concluded play at the Neumann University Invitational Sunday afternoon dropping two games in straight sets against Ursinus College and Nazareth University.

Following the two-day tournament of play, Wilkes moves to 2-21 on the season.

Wilkes fell in three sets against Ursinus by scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-22. Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way with eight kills. Kate McGurk (Swarthmore/Ridley), who was named to the All-Invitational Team, finished with two kills and a team-high 21 assists. Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) contributed a team-best 20 digs, while Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY/Warwick Valley) added four kills and nine digs.

The Lady Colonels then dropped a 3-0 decision to Nazareth by scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-21. McGurk recorded two kills, 15 assists, and five digs in the match. Nothstein chipped in 15 digs and one kill, while Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) notched six kills and six digs.

Wilkes will return to the court Tuesday with a Freedom road matchup at Manhattanville College at 7:00 p.m.
