WILKES WOMENS SOCCER SET FOR SEMI-FINAL MATCHUP AT EASTERN WEDNESDAY
 
ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Wilkes University women's soccer team prepares for a semi-final matchup as they travel to Eastern University Wednesday, November 2nd. Game time is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. at Olson Field.
 
Ticket prices as mandated by the Middle Atlantic Conference will be $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six are free. Championship t-shirts will also be on sale with long sleeved at $15 and $12 for short sleeve.

The winner of the Freedom Conference Tournament will earn an automatic bid into the Division III National Tournament.
 
#3 Wilkes enters the contest with an 8-5-3 overall record standing 4-1-2 in Freedom play suffering their only conference loss Sunday against the Eagles, 3-0.
 
The Lady Colonels are led by a balanced offensive attack with several players posting double digits in points. Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) leads the squad with 17 points on six goals and five assists. Ashley Graham (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) follows with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) chips in 12 points on five goals and two helpers in 16 games.
 
In net, Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) will make her Freedom playoff debut after starting in all 16 contests for Wilkes this season. Lindo has been the anchor for a solid Lady Colonel defense posting 83 saves with a 1.20 goals against average. Megan Clementson (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) has played a vital role on the backline seeing time in all 16 matches while earning 14 starts in her final year at Wilkes.
 
Eastern University enters the playoffs with an 11-5-2 mark and 6-1-0 in conference play earning the #2 seed following the win at Wilkes on Sunday.
 
The Eagles are led by Kelsey Doutrich with 35 points on 15 goals and five assists in 2011. Tess Beckwith adds 16 points on five goals and a team-best six assists. Goalkeeper Alyisa Goodman has made 60 saves and boasts a 0.64 GAA.
 
This marks the Lady Colonels third Freedom Conference semi-final appearance in the past five years.  Since 2006, Wilkes has yet to garner a win over Eastern as the Eagles hold a 5-0-1 series advantage.  The game will mark a rematch of the championship game in 2008 as Eastern took a 6-0 decision.
 
The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday where they will face either #4 FDU-Florham or #1 Misericordia University at the highest remaining seed.
