Colonels Notebook
• The Colonels will face tough competition from a very strong field as they compete in the 2011 Metropolitan Conference Wrestling Championships this Sunday, hosted by King's College.
• The Colonels are coming off of a 22-22 tie with rival King's last Friday; They are looking to rebound from injuries which limited them in team competition over the past few weeks.
• WU will feature eight grapplers who are ranked in the top six in the Metro; Among those five are Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) (141 - 4th), Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (149 - 1st), Shane Everett (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) (157 - 4th), Ben Marich (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) (165 - 4th), Dustin Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) (174 - 5th), Dave Oberrender (Freeland, PA/Hazleton) (184 - 6th), Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) (197 - 6th) and Chris Smith (Wantage, NJ/High Point) (285 - 2nd).
• In total, 16 wrestlers this weekend are ranked nationally, including Will Livingston (133) of Centenary, who is ranked first; TCNJ has four nationally ranked grapplers, while York and Centenary each have three, Delaware Valley has two and WU, Hunter, Elizabethtown and King's each have one.
• WU's top wrestler, Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (149), owns a 23-2 overall record this season and is ranked in both the NWCA poll (7th) and the d3wrestle.com poll (6th).
• The Colonels recently moved up to No. 13 in the nation in the latest NWCA poll (2/8); This is the highest WU has been ranked this year; The Colonels reached No. 14 earlier in the season after starting the year 6-2 in dual matches.
