WILKES-BARRE – The Colonels had five pins and lost just one bout on Thursday night, defeating Metropolitan Conference opponent Scranton 46-3, extending its winning streak to five.

The match started off with a victory by Anthony Peterson (Edison, NJ/Edison ) for the Colonels, who then collected a forfeit win at 133. Over the next eight bouts Wilkes recorded five falls, with Jared Brownmiller (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton), Phil Racciato (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl), Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh), Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg), and Jon Slack (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills) each pinned their opponent. Transue nearly set Wilkes history, pinning his opponent in 11 seconds, three off the school record.

Other Colonels who won on the day were Brandon Dixon (Factoryville, PA/Lackawanna Trail) and Ray Dungee, with Dungee collecting a major decision victory.

The Colonels will now face TCNJ on Friday, Feb. 4 at the Marts Center. That match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
