ELIZABETHTOWN - The 15th-ranked Wilkes University wrestling team fell to No. 22 Elizabethtown College 23-12 in a Metropolitan Conference matchup on Tuesday evening.

After falling behind 6-0, the Colonels got a 3-0 win from Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) over Colin Sheridan at 141. Matt Ellery (Somerset, NJ/Middlesex) then posted an overtime win, getting a two-point takedown with 47 seconds left in the extra period.

at 184, Raymond Dungee (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) got the Colonels third win, scoring five of the last six points in the bout to win 7-2 over Anthony DiMarco. Heavyweight Chris Smith (Wantage, NJ/High Point) had the fourth Wilkes victory, winning by decision.

The Colonels (15-9-1) travel to Ithaca, New York on Friday to take on the fourth-ranked Bombers. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
