WILKES-BARRE – Freshman Matt Kachurak (Mountain Top/Crestwood) shot a team-best 82 and Kaleb Smith (Beavertown/Midd-West) finished with an 85 but Wilkes University fell to Misericordia University 332-352 on Thursday afternoon at the par-72 Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course.

Kachurak followed up the 72 he shot in his collegiate debut last week with today's 10-over effort, finishing third overall in the dual.

Smith's 85 was a season-low while Ryan McKeown (Hillsborough, NJ/Immaculata) shot a 91, Michael Turano (Browndale/Forest City Regional) shot a 94 and Michael Daubert (Thornhurst, PA/Coughlin) finished with a 96.

Misericordia's Bucky Aeppli shot a match-low three-over 75 while Jordan Wollenberg followed him with an 81.

The Colonels (0-3) return to the course on Monday when they participate in Misericordia's MU Invitational at Mount Laurel.
