WHITE HAVEN – Bobby Hillibush (Mahanoy City/Mahanoy Area) tied for second with a three-over 75 and the Colonels combined to shoot 322 as Wilkes University finished second at the Misericordia Invitational held at Mountain Laurel Golf Course in White Haven.

The Colonels finished 14 shots behind winner FDU-Florham, as the Devils shot a 20-over par 308 on Monday.

Matt Kachurak (Mountain Top/Crestwood) continued his impressive spring with a five-over 77, good for sixth overall out of 29 golfers.

Rounding out the rest of the Wilkes finishers was Michael Turano (Browndale/Forest City Regional) tying for 11th with an eight-over 80; Kaleb Smith (Beavertown/Midd-West) finishing with a 90 and Michael Daubert (Thornhurst, PA/Coughlin) coming in with a 94.

John Cruz of FDU was the overall winner with a two-over 74, leading three golfers who shot in the 70s.

Elizabethtown College finished third overall with a 324 with Misericordia University one behind them in fourth at 325. DeSales University was fifth with a 328 and William Paterson University rounded out the six with a 331.

The Colonels return to the course on Thursday when they participate in the Susquehanna Invitational at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Tee time is set for 1:00 p.m.
