MOOSIC – Matt Kachurak (Mountain Top/Crestwood) shot a match-low 72 but it wasn't enough for the Colonels as Wilkes University shot an overall 338 in a tri-match loss to the University of Scranton and FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.

Scranton won the match with a 322 while the Devils came in with a 332.

Finished second on the team to Kachurak, Bobby Hillibush (Mahanoy City/Mahanoy Area) came in with a 76. Kaleb Smith (Beavertown/Midd-West) ended his day with a 94 while Matt Turano shot a 96 and Ryan McKeown (Hillsborough, NJ/Immaculata) finished with a 102.

FDU-Florham's Matt Molinaro also shot a 72 on the day while Scranton's low round was a 76 from Chris Schank. The remaining four scorers for the Royals each shot an 82.

This was the first action this spring for the Colonels, who will play back-to-back matches on their home course next week, facing Baptist Bible College on Wednesday and Misericordia University on Thursday.
