WILKES MEN'S SOCCER POSTS 3-2 ROAD WIN AT LEB VAL
ANNVILLE, PA – Nicholas Patricia (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) scored the game-winner with two minutes left in the second half as visiting Wilkes University took a 3-2 decision at Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.
With the win Wilkes improves to 4-3 on the year, while Leb Val drops to 6-2.
Tyler Young (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) put Wilkes on the board first with a goal off an assist from Patricia at 1:11 to give the Colonels a 1-0 lead.
Jim Moran (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) would add to the lead in the second half netting an unassisted tally to push the lead to 2-0 at the 67:46 mark. Leb Val scored two quick goals late in the second half just five minutes apart as the hosts tied the game at 2-2 with four minutes left in regulation.
From there, Patricia made good on the game-winner at the 88:47 mark to capture the non-league win for the Colonels.
Leb Val held a 15-5 shot advantage, while garnering four corner kicks to Wilkes' two attempts. Colonel keeper Dave Marr (Muncy, PA/Warrior Run) made five saves to record the win in et, while Leb Val goalie James Clements finished with one stop.
Wilkes will return to the field Tuesday when they travel to Elmira College for a non-conference contest scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
