WILKES WRESTLING FINISHES 3-0 AT HOME QUAD MATCH 1/28/2012 4:13:00 PM (Full Results) WILKES WRESTLING EXTENDS DUAL MATCH WIN STREAK TO 10 WITH 3-0 MARK AT HOME QUAD MATCH SATURDAY WILKES-BARRE – The No. 19 Wilkes University wrestling team extended their dual match win streak to 10 posting three wins in a home quad match Saturday afternoon at the Marts Center. The Colonels posted wins over Gettysburg (26-15), Trinity (46-9), and RIT (32-9) to go 3-0 on the day. Prior to the match, senior Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) was recognized for his 100th career win as Wilkes University Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Paul Adams presented Dattolo with his 100th victory plaque along with his parents Phil and Patricia. Dattolo is one of five Colonels in program history to reach the century mark, coming against Messiah College in early January. Wilkes trailed early in the match against Gettysburg after two bouts, but a pin from Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) at 141 and a forfeit victory for Dattolo at 149 gave the Colonels a 12-9 lead. Matthew Ellery made it 16-9 with a major decision over Jason Fiore at 157. Dustin Stough (Friendsville, MD/Northern Garrett) (3-1) and Buddy Gouger (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) (9-3) added decision wins and Dave Oberrender (Freeland, PA/Hazleton) followed with a major decision at 197 (15-5) to seal the 26-15 victory to open competition. After three forfeits gave Wilkes an 18-0 lead against Trinity, the Colonels cruised adding four pins and a major decision on way to a 46-9 win. Dattolo claimed his 102nd career win pinning Tom Crabtree in 3:15. Ellery, Stough, and Gouger eached posted falls while Nathan White (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) took a 12-0 major decision at 165. In the final match of the afternoon against RIT, Wilkes jumped out to a 25-0 lead after six bouts. Michael Fleck (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) started things off with a technical fall (18-2), followed by a 9-2 decision win by Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) at 133-pounds. Wilson pinned his opponent at 141 and Dattolo captured his 103rd career win with a technical fall 18-0. Ellery and White grabbed decision victories at 7-4 and 5-0 respectively. Gouger posted a 7-1 decision at 184 followed by Oberrender's major decision at 197 (11-3).
