WILKES MEN'S SOCCER BLANKED AT EASTERN 3-0

ST. DAVIDS, PA – Host Eastern University used two first half goals and added an insurance tally in the second frame on way to a 3-0 shutout win over Wilkes University Saturday afternoon in men's soccer action.

Wilkes falls to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in Freedom games. Eastern improves to 7-3-1 overall and evens its conference mark at 2-2 through four games.

Brandon Beaumont made it 1-0 Eastern when he outraced two Wilkes defenders and cut central beating Colonel keeper Dave Marr (Muncy, PA/Warrior Run) with 23:22 on the first half clock. The Eagles pushed the lead to 2-0 at the 42:14 mark as Hunter Rosenberg scored off an assist from Josh Cirocco.

Cirocco added a goal with a left foot shot that found the upper right corner of the net as Eastern led 3-0 late in the second half.

Wilkes was unable to find any rhythm offensive garnering just three shots throughout the game. Marr made 11 saves facing 21 Eagles shots. Eastern goalie Kyle Nichols did not have to make a save in the game.

Wilkes returns home Wednesday hosting Misericordia University in a Freedom Conference matchup at Schmidt Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
