WILKES MEN'S SOCCER CLOSES OUT SEASON WITH SCORELESS TIE AT CROSS-TOWN RIVAL KING'S COLLEGE

WILKES-BARRE – 110 minutes was not enough to produce a winner as cross-town rival visiting Wilkes University and King's College battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the tie Wilkes ends its 2012 slate with a 5-10-2 overall mark and finish 1-4-2 in Freedom games. King's moves to 10-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 in league games. King's earned the third seed in next week's Freedom Conference Tournament.

King's played most of the contest in its offensive end outshooting Wilkes 18-5 throughout. The Monarchs also garnered 11 corner attempts to Wilkes' four corner opportunities.

Dave Marr (Muncy, PA/Warrior Run) finished with 10 saves in net playing all 110 minutes for Wilkes. Mark Labbadia made four stops for King's.

Wilkes welcomes back all but two starters from this year's squad in 2013 looking to get back into Freedom postseason play.
