SWARTHMORE, PA – Kayla Curry scored 4:46 into the first overtime period to propel top-seeded Stevenson University to a 2-1 win over third seeded Wilkes University Sunday afternoon in the ECAC South Region Championship game at host Swarthmore College.

Wilkes concludes its season with a 12-5-5 overall mark. The Lady Colonels set school records for goals allowed (15) and total team shutouts (12).

Wilkes broke open a scoreless game 27:46 into the first half when Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central)'s shot deflected off a Stevenson defender and Krista Zawistowski (Syosset, NY/Syosset) kicked home the rebound for her first goal of the season.

Stevenson's Jamie Matlock tied the game at the 60:31 mark in the second half when she found the back of the net off an assist from Meaghan Williams.

Neither team was able to score the game-winner in regulation as the contest went into the first extra session. From there, Curry headed home the deciding tally on a cross from Shannon McGuire to give the Mustangs the ECAC title.

Wilkes graduates six seniors from this' year's squad including three-time All-Freedom performers Katy Fissel (Madison, NJ/Madison) and Lyndsay Ellis (Shavertown, PA/Dallas). The Lady Colonels will return a nucleus of players in 2013 looking for a return trip to Freedom postseason play.
