WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH 2-1 WIN AT MORAVIAN

BETHLEHEM, PA – Senior Katy Fissel (Madison, NJ/Madison) broke open a tie game with the game-winning goal off a Priscilla Bonilla (Fairless Hills, PA/The Pennington School) assist at the 79:36 mark to lead visiting Wilkes University to a 2-1 win over Moravian College Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Lady Colonels remain unbeaten at 2-0 following its two-day, two-game road stretch.

Moravian struck first with a goal at 26:24, but the Lady Colonels answered just three minutes later when Katie Cocchi (Morris Plains, NJ/Parsipany Hills) found the back of the net off an assist from Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) to tie the game at 1-1.

Wilkes held a 10-7 shot advantage while garnering nine corner kicks to Moravian's one attempt.

Freshman Katie Mahoney and sophomore Haley Kay split time in net for Wilkes combining for one save on the afternoon.

Wilkes returns home Wednesday making its home debut against the University of Scranton at 4:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
