METZGER LEADS WILKES MEN'S SOCCER PAST PENN COLLEGE 2-0

EDWARDSVILLE, PA – Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored his first collegiate goal and added an assist on another as he led the Wilkes University men's soccer team to a victory over Penn College 2-0 Thursday night at Schmidt Stadium.

Wilkes improves to 4-4 while Penn College drops to 7-2-1.

In the opening half, Wilkes freshmen Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored his first collegiate goal on a helper from Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington). McAnena took the ball to the baseline and sent a dish to Metzger at the 12:38 mark.

In the second half, the story was all the same. In the 60^th minute, an Eddie Metzger (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) ball was passed to Jason Kieffer who dribbled around a defender and served the dish to Michael Turner (Hudson, PA/Coughlin) who sent the ball home.

Dave Marr (Muncy, PA/Warrior Run) had three saves in net for the Colonels while David Munn recorded nine stops.

Wilkes will return to action Saturday when they open Freedom Conference play when they host Delaware Valley College at Schmidt Stadium.
