WILKES VOLLEYBALL SPLITS MATCHES ON DAY ONE OF GREYHOUND INVITATIONAL
BETHLEHEM, PA – The Wilkes University volleyball team split a pair of matches on day one of the Greyhound Invitational held on the campus of Moravian College Friday night.
Wilkes dropped a 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 14-25, 25-20, 6-15) decision to Swarthmore before claiming a 3-0 (25-13, 25-0, 25-15) victory over the College of New Rochelle.
In the win against New Rochelle, Casey Bohan (Harding/Wyoming Area) led the way offensively with 19 kills and two block assists. Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added seven kills and two total blocks, while Paige Trusty (Durham, CT/Coginchaug) contributed with 14 kills.
Erin Nothstein (Mertztown/Brandywine Heights) led the Wilkes backline with 27 digs, while setter Megan Powers (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) finished with school record 54 assists surpassing her previous mark of 48 assists last season against Marywood.
Wilkes returns to the court tomorrow to conclude play at the Greyhound Invitational. Wilkes faces Alvernia University at 12:00 p.m. then closes play with a match against Marywood University at 2:00 p.m.
