EDWARDSVILLE, PA -- The Colonels used two goals in a span of three minutes from Senior Nicholas Patricia (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) en route to a 3-0 win vs. D'Youville College on Sunday afternoon.  Wilkes record improves to 4-1 on the year while the loss drops D'Youville to 0-7.

Wilkes offense started the game with constant pressure and attack but was unable to find the back of the net until the 31st minute when Patricia finished a loose ball in the box into an empty goal.  Just three minutes later Patricia scored his second goal of the game off of an assist from Geoffrey Arentz (Stevens, PA/Lancaster Catholic ).  Arentz served a back post ball that Patricia was able to take off of his knee and direct it over the hands of D'Youville's goalkeeper Matt Smith.

The Colonels offense continued to go to goal in the second half generating 19 shots in the half and eight corners.  Mitchell Woodward (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth) scored the final goal of the game in the 87th minute.  Luke Dombert (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) served a ball to the far post where Woodward hit a perfectly timed half volley into the upper 90 extending the Colonels lead to three.  It was Woodward's first collegiate goal.

The Colonels offense generated 31 shots and 15 corner kicks for the match, while the defense limited D'Youville to one shot on goal and two shots total for the match.

The Colonels are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Baptist Bible College to makeup Thursday's rainout at 4 p.m.
