WILKES GOLFERS FINISH SIXTH AT ANTHRACITE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS AT SCRANTON
MOOSIC, PA – The Wilkes University golf team shot a combined 383 taking sixth place of seven teams at the 2013 Anthracite Golf Championships held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club hosted by the University of Scranton on Monday.
Dalton Milam (Blakely, PA/Valley View) led all Wilkes scorers carding an 87 at the Par 71 course. Michael Daubert (Thornhurst, PA/Coughlin) followed with an 88, while John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) shot a 101.
Scranton won the team title with a 310, followed by Marywood and Keystone with scores of 336 and 338 respectively. After King's took fourth, Misericordia was fifth with a 353, followed by Baptist Bible with a 385.
Luke Peterson of Baptist Bible and Grant Gulick of Scranton tied for first with identical scores of 74, but Peterson was declared the winner after a match of scorecards.
Wilkes returns to the course next Wednesday hosting the University of Scranton at the Huntsville Golf Club at 1:00 p.m.
