GRAHAM'S GOAL LIFTS WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER OVER GWYNEDD-MERCY 1-0

GWYNEDD-VALLEY, PA – Ashley Graham (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) scored the game-winning goal late in the first half to lift visiting Wilkes University to a 1-0 shutout win over Gwynedd-Mercy College Wednesday night in non-conference action.

Wilkes improves to 5-1-1 overall on the year while Gwynedd-Mercy slips to 0-6-1 on the season.

Graham's goal came at 33:29 on the first half when she deflected a corner into the back of the net thanks to assists from Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) and Haley Adam (Brookeville, MD/Sherwood). The goal proved to be the difference as goalie Kate Mahoney (Kingston, NH/Central Catholic) made three saves to preserve the shutout road victory.

Wilkes outshot Gwynedd-Mercy 15-4 throughout, while garnering three corner kicks to Gwynedd-Mercy's one attempt.

Wilkes returns home Saturday hosting Arcadia University at 5:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
