MEN'S SOCCER SHUTOUT 3-0 AGAINST ELIZABETHTOWN
EDWARDSVILLE, PA – After a scoreless first half, Elizabethtown scored three goals within a fifteen minute span en route to a 3-0 win over the Colonels. Elizabethtown improves their record to 3-4-2 while Wilkes falls to 7-3.

Wilkes had the better of the play early in the first half and had their best chance of the game off of a Nicholas Patricia (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) corner kick. Patricia whipped a beautiful ball into the box that found the head of Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington) who headed the ball down and to the keepers left. However, E-town goalkeeper Justin Signora was up to the task and stymied the shot right before the goal line and the Blue Jays cleared the ball from danger. Both teams had four shots in the half and Wilkes held a 4-2 corner advantage.

In the 58th minute the Blue Jays were able to break the deadlock when Andrew Sandridge finished a rebound off of his initial shot for the 1-0 lead. Wilkes senior goalkeeper Dave Marr (Muncy, PA/Warrior Run) made a phenomenal first save on Sandridge, making a reaction save off to his left but the rebound sat perfectly for Sandbridge to pound into an empty net. Kyle Fowler added to the Blue Jays lead when his 30-yard shot curled above an outstretched Marr and into the top part of the goal. Cal Graziano scored the final Blue Jays goal in the 73rd minute when he headed home a ball served in by David Boretti.

The Colonels return to action on Wednesday when they host nationally ranked Stevens Institute of Technology at Schmidt Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
