FOUR FIRST HALF GOALS PROPEL MEN'S SOCCER OVER DELAWARE VALLEY
EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The Colonels opened up the scoring in the 4th minute and went on to score three more times in the first half of action as they defeated Delaware Valley 4-1 on Tuesday evening.

The Colonels improve to 4-11 overall and 2-1 in the Freedom Conference while Delaware Valley falls to 3-10-2 and 0-3 in the Freedom.
Senior Eric McAnena (Horsham, PA/Abington) scored his fourth goal of the season when he ripped a shot to the high right corner after being played a ball from fellow Senior Ryan Joyce (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood).  McAnena scored his second of the game in the 11th minute when he scored off a beautifully served cross from Sebastian Moreno (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North).

Michael Hasbrouck (Vestal, NY/Vestal) got into the scoring action as he finished a rebound opportunity after Adam Snyder (Levittown, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) had his initial shot saved by Austin Brotman who was in goal for the Aggies.  A minute later Hasbrouck fed Snyder on a through ball to the right side and Snyder side footed it to the far right side for the fourth goal of the half for the Colonels.  Wilkes outshot Delaware Valley 11-3 for the half and held a 4-1 advantage in corners.

Wilkes had several scoring chances in the second half however they came up empty despite out shooting Delaware Valley 13-4 in the final 45 minutes of play.  Steve Mannato ended the Colonels bid at a shutout when he scored unassisted in the 84th minute.  Kyle Romm (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) picked up the win as he made three saves in net for the Navy and Gold.

Wilkes returns to action Saturday at 7 p.m. with a key Freedom Conference match at cross-town rival King's College.
