WILKES MEN’S & WOMEN’S SWIMMING FALL AT MESSIAH 10/25/2014 7:35:00 PM (Meet Results)WILKES MEN'S & WOMEN'S SWIMMING FALL AT MESSIAH GRANTHAM, PA – The Wilkes University men's and women's swimming teams fell at Messiah College in a dual meet Saturday afternoon. The Colonels men dropped a 174-49 decision while the Wilkes women fell 182-59. Beth Chmil led the Lady Colonel scorers in the meet placing second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.50 and third place finish in the 50 breaststroke at 34.28. Sarah Cole (Hanover Twp., PA/Wyoming Seminary) claimed second in the 11 backstroke with a time of 1:09.88, while Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) finished third in the 500 freestyle at 6:32.86. The relay team of Cassie Morey, Mandy Stickles, Gillian Gagliardi (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) and Chmil claimed first place in the 200 freestyle with a school record time of 1:54.12. For the men, Will Hauze (Wapwallopen, PA/Holy Redeemer) took first place in the 500 freestyle coming in at 5:50.72. The relay team of Greg O'Malley (Binghamton, NY/Windsor), Thurman Fogleman (York, PA/William Penn), Austin Paisley (Sugarloaf, PA/Hazleton Area) and Chris Bright set a school record in the 200 freestyle finishing first at 1:42.05. Both squads are back in the pool Saturday, November 8th at Lycoming College's tri-match with Stevenson University starting at 1:00 p.m.Print Friendly Version
