Wilkes Women's Soccer March to ECAC Championship Continues Saturday in Semifinals against Arcadia
 
WILKES-BARRE – After taking down the #3 seed Muhlenberg College 3-0 on Wednesday evening, the Wilkes women's soccer team hopes to pull off another upset as they travel to Lebanon Valley College Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. match against #2 seed Arcadia University in the semifinals of the ECAC South Region Championship.
 
Tickets for the match are set for $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students. Fans unable to attend the game can follow the action through live stats courtesy of LVC at the link below.

Wilkes is riding a four-game winning streak coming into Saturday's match with three of those wins coming by shutout. Wilkes and Arcadia played a thrilling match back on September, 20 with Wilkes coming out on top 3-2.  Shelby Trumbo (Landingville, PA/Schuylkill Haven) scored early for the Lady Colonels to give them a 1-0 lead. Arcadia's Kim Canfield and Jackie Glanfield scored first half goals to put the Knights up 2-1 at the break. Micaela Olivero tied the score just :29 seconds into the second half and Trumbo scored the game-winner six minutes later off of a breakaway. 
 
Offensively Wilkes has scored 29 goals by 11 different players. Wilkes is led by Oliverio's 18 points. Oliverio has eight goals and two assists while taking a team-high 34 shots. Senior Katie Hughes (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) is second on the team with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Juinor Grace Fazzi (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) and Trumbo are tied for third with nine points each. 
 
The defense has been very stingy throughout the season as they have only conceded 19 goals (0.95 goals per-game). As a team they have posted eight shutouts this season. Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) is 10-7 in net on the year having allowed just 16 goals. Semetti has made 67 saves for a .807 save percentage.
 
Arcadia is the defending ECAC South Region Champion and enters the match with a 16-6 overall record.  They are seeking revenge against the Lady Colonels after they let a 2-1 lead slip away earlier this season. The Knights defeated Wesley College handily 5-0 on Wednesday evening moving into the semifinals for a second consecutive year.
 
The Knights have scored 50 goals this season with 11 different goal scorers. Lennon Kramer paves the way with 35 points scored this season. Kramer leads the team with 16 goals scored (four game-winners) while dishing out three assists. Canfield is second on the squad with 30 points (7 G, 16 A), Karis Poore is third on the team with 20 points (7 G, 6 A) and Glanfield is fourth with 19 points (8 G, 3 A).   
 
Defensively the Knights have been quite stout as they have only allowed their opposition to score 13 goals (0.59 goals per-game). Out of their sixteen wins, fourteen have come by way of shutout. Veronica Willig is 15-6 this year in net with a 0.69 goals against average. Willig has made 54 saves this season and boasts a .806 save percentage.
 
The winner of the match will take on the winner of #1 Lebanon Valley/#5 McDaniel on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the ECAC South Region Championship.
