Denger's heroics came early in the first overtime with the game tied at 1-1. She took a pass from Grace Fazzi (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) in the box and rattled her shot off the right post and in to claim the victory for Wilkes. Wilkes took a 1-0 lead at the 65:55 mark when Micaela Oliverio (Carlisle, PA/Trinity) scored off an assist from Denger. William Patterson answered and tied the game at the 81:50 mark when Gina Cowdrick scored on a free kick into the right upper corner of the net. From there, Denger came to Wilkes' rescue finishing her three-point night for the Lady Colonels. Wilkes held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks while William Patterson outshot the Lady Colonels 7-6 in the contest. The game was delayed 45 minutes due to a power outage at the field at the start of the second half. Wilkes looks to make it three straight wins when the Lady Colonels travel to Arcadia University Saturday for a non-conference match starting at 4:00 p.m.Print Friendly Version
