WILKES MEN'S GOLFERS OPEN SEASON AGAINST KING'S/SCRANTON

WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team opened the 2014-15 season with a tri-match against local rivals King's College and the University of Scranton Wednesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. Wilkes shot a combined 323 while host King's led the pack with a 307 and Scranton finished second with a 314.

Matt Kachurak (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) led all Colonel scorers shooting a 76 (+6) for second place. John Scalese (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) followed with an 81 (+11) in tenth while Dalton Milam (Blakely, PA/Valley View) finished eleventh carding an 82 (+12).

Scranton was led by Ryan Brown who earned medalist honors with a one-over par 71.

Wilkes returns to the course Thursday when they travel to Glenmaura Country Club to face Scranton at 1:00 p.m.
