In the 7th minute Katie Monahan finished a rebound in front of the net to open up the scoring for Union. Ten minutes later Stacey Sylvetsky scored her first goal of the year off a feed from Whitney Bickford. Union put Wilkes under a lot of pressure in the first half as they outshot the Lady Colonels 10-2 and held a 3-0 advantage in corners. In the second half Wilkes reversed the shooting statistics as they fired 12 shots compared to Union's one; however, the Lady Colonels were unable to find the back of the net as Union goalkeeper Allison Brustowicz made eight saves. Wilkes Elena Denger (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) fired a team high three shots two of which were on goal. Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) and Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) split time in net for the Navy and Gold. Young started the game taking the loss as she allowed to goals while making six saves. The Lady Colonels return to action on Thursday when they travel to Annville, PA to face-off against Lebanon Valley College. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.Print Friendly Version
