Jackson also made 7-out-of-7 foul shot attempts. His 21 points helped lead the Colonels over the Devils 86-75 on Saturday afternoon. The win snaps a three game losing streak in the Freedom Conference for the Colonels and has them standing at 3-3 in the Freedom and 8-9 overall. FDU-Florham falls to 1-16 overall and 0-6 in the Freedom. FDU wasted no tine getting things started as the home team jumped off to a 7-0 lead thanks to five points from Ali Donte. Wilkes made good on their next three field goal attempts, including an and-one jumper from Mason Gross (Hughestown, PA/Pittston) trimming the Devils lead to 9-7 five minutes into the game. FDU responded with a 10-2 run over a three-minute stand extending their lead to 19-9. Both teams traded baskets over the next five minutes with FDU leading 31-19 at the 7:10 minute mark in the half. Despite being down 12, Wilkes went on a 16-4 run to tie the game at 35 with 3:53 to go in the half. Alec Wizar (Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona) nailed three three-pointers and scored 11 total points with Jackson nailing a three and making good on two foul shots. Wilkes took their first lead of the game 38-36 when Jackson made his second three of the night helping to extend the run to 19-6. Steve Stravinski (Pittston, PA/Pittston) hit a big three with under a minute to go in the half to put Wilkes up 43-38 at the break. Coming out of the locker room the Colonels did not pull the pedal off the medal as they extended their lead to 15 with a Wizar three at the 18:36 minute mark in the second half. The Devils trimmed the lead to eight at 59-51 with a 11-4 run before Wilkes knocked down five straight to regain the double digit lead at 64-51. A 9-3 run by the Devils trimmed the Colonels lead to seven at 67-60 with less than eight minutes remaining in the game. Wizar delivered another dagger three-point attempt that sparked a 12-2 Colonels run that saw them take their biggest lead of the game at 17. The Devils made things interesting late cutting the lead to seven before Jackson sealed the game at the line for the Colonels. Wilkes shot 46.7 percent (28-60) for the game and 54.1 percent (13-24) in the second half. From three-point range they made 47.6 percent (10-21) of their shots and 66.7 percent (20-30) of their free throw attempts. Jackson poured in 21 points (15 in first half), dished out four assists and collected four steals. Wizar made five three-pointers on his way to a 17 point effort. Freshmen Zachary Brunner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) and Mason Gross (Hughestown, PA/Pittston) poured in 13 and Jeremy Hartman (Little Egg Harbor, NJ/Pinelands Regional) came off the bench to score six points and grab nine rebounds. FDU-Florham shot 49.2 percent (29-59) from the field but struggled from three-point range making only 25.0 percent (5-20) of their shots. They also struggled from the foul-line making 12-of-25 attempts (48.0 percent). Ali posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards; Ryan Rigby added 16 points and Kevin Furlong 14.
