Wilkes Swimming Finishes Day One of Diamond Invitational
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's swimming teams concluded day one (session one and two) of the 2015 Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the CYC on Saturday.
In session one, Chase Osbourne finished 11
th in the 50 freestyle coming in at 24.24 to lead the Wilkes finishers. The Wilkes men finished in sixth place with 95 total team points following the session.
For the women in session one, The 200 freestyle relay team of Cassie Morey,
Danielle McCole (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer),
Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) and
Amanda Lopez (Dallas, PA/Dallas) missed the school record by one second finishing sixth at 1:47.07.
Morgan Williams (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) broke her own school mark in the 500 freestyle finishing at 5:55.86 for 21
st overall. Lopez also came in 12
th in the 50 freestyle at 26.53.
The Wilkes women finished in eighth place with 57 total points following session one.
Competition begins tomorrow (Sunday) at 10:00 a.m. at the CYC with session three.
