No. 22 Wilkes Wrestling Goes 2-0 with Wins Over Temple, Muhlenberg at Away Quad
 
MUHLENBERG, PA – The No. 22 Wilkes University wrestling team picked up a pair of wins on Sunday posting a 40-9 decision over Temple University before besting host Muhlenberg College 35-10 in its final match of the day.
 
Wilkes improves to 4-2 overall on the year following the two victories.
 
In the win over Temple, Michael Fleck (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) began the match with a technical fall to move to 9-0 on the year. Jake Dimarsico (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) added a technical fall at 141 followed by a fall from Corey Fleming at 149. James Palys (Scotrun, PA/Pocono Mountain East) earned a 3-1 decision at 157 and Wilkes received a forfeit at 165 to push its lead to 25-6 after six bouts. Neojoe Lughas (Plainfield, NJ/Plainfield) pinned his opponent in 6:04 at 174 and Jordan Nochimson (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) claimed a 5-0 decision win at 184. Alex Pullen (Salisbury, MD/Wicomico) finished off the match claiming a pin in 1:08 at heavyweight.
 
Wilkes cruised to a 25-point win over the host Mules in its second match of the day thanks to two forfeits and three extra point wins. Thomas Stokes (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) and Kyle Diesel (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) each collected major decisions while Nicholas Dawson (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville) closed out the match with a pin at 197 in 1:28.
 
Wilkes will compete in the Grapple at the Garden against LIU Post at 9:45 a.m. next Sunday in a prestigious event held at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York City.
