Wilkes Swim Teams Earn Sweep at FDU-Florham

MADISON, NJ – The Wilkes University swimming teams recorded a sweep of host FDU-Florham Sunday afternoon in MAC action.

The Colonel men posted a 94-82 victory, the team's first of the 2014-15 season, while the Wilkes women earned its second win of the season with a 97-79 decision over the Devils.

For the Wilkes women, Mandy Stickles took second in the 200 freestyle coming in at 2:29.80. Beth Chmil finished first in the 200 IM at 2:38.70. Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) claimed first in the 500 freestyle at 6:26.20.

Greg O'Malley (Binghamton, NY/Windsor) finished first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.90. Jeff Mastrantuono (Waverly, NY/Waverly) broke the school mark in the 100 butterfly taking first with a time of 1:00.40. Mastrantuono took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke at 1:03.90. Will Hauze (Wapwallopen, PA/Holy Redeemer) came in first in the 500 freestyle at 6:02.00.

Both Wilkes teams conclude their inaugural seasons at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships February 12, 13 and 14 in York, Pa.
