Wilkes Swim Teams Finish Day Two at MAC Championships

YORK, PA – The Wilkes University swimming teams finished day two action at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships Friday night.

The Colonel men stand in eleventh place with 24 team points through day two while the Lady Colonels are in tenth place with 40 team points.

In the 400 medley relay, the squad of Abigail Nemeth, Mandy Stickles, Kiersten Torre (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) and Nancy Ramirez (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) finished 12^th with a time of 5:21.66. Lauren Merli (Jessup, PA/Valley View) and Beth Chmil both competed in the 200 IM taking 22^nd and 23^rd with times of 2:29.53 and 2:31.28 respectively. Cassie Morey claimed 22^nd in the 50 freestyle coming in at 26.87 setting the school record in the process while Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) took 34^th at 27.99.

For the Wilkes men, Jeff Mastrantuono (Waverly, NY/Waverly) took 9^th place in the 50 freestyle final topping the "B" final race in the process. He finished with a time 21.97, breaking his previous school record of 22.67 set back in November.

Session four begins tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m. with session five to start at 6:00 p.m.
