Wilkes Swim Teams Conclude Day Three at MAC Championships
 
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's and women's swimming teams finished day three at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships Saturday night.
 
The Wilkes women stand in tenth place with 63 team points. The Colonel men are in eleventh place with 56 team points through 24 events.
 
The women's relay team of Beth Chmil, Megan Evers (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway), Lauren merli and Cassie Morey finished tenth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.23, over four seconds faster than its preliminary time earlier in the day.
 
Chmil had a strong showing in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.53  taking home ninth place.
 
In the 200 freestyle relay the squad of Jeff Mastrantuono (Waverly, NY/Waverly), Chris Bright, Austin Paisley (Sugarloaf, PA/Hazleton Area) and Greg O'Malley (Binghamton, NY/Windsor) took home tenth with a time of 1:32.73, over four second faster than its previous time in the preliminaries.
 
Mastrantuono placed ninth in the 100 breaststroke coming in at 59.98. The time marked the sixth fastest in the event through the two final races.
 
The final day (day four) of the championships begins tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will take place after session seven at 6:00 p.m.
