Men's Soccer Falls to Swarthmore
EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University men's soccer team lost a close 1-0 match against Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
The Colonels fall to 0-4 with the loss while the Garnet improved to 3-2 with the win.
The lone goal of the game came in the 59
th minute, when off of a Wilkes penalty a Swarthmore defender booted the ball into the box, and after it bounced around, midfielder Michael Nafziger corralled it and kicked home the only point needed for the win.

Tim Gallagher (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) fell to 0-4 with the loss, making six saves in the effort. Garnet goalkeeper Ross Bednar improved to 1-0 with the win making one save.
Wilkes returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Summit University for a 4 p.m. non-conference match. The Colonels return home on Wednesday the 23
rd when they host Susquehanna for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
