SCRANTON, PA.- The Wilkes University field hockey team fell by a 1-0 score in overtime at the University of Scranton on Wednesday night.

The Lady Colonels fell to 4-4 while the Royals improved to 7-0.

Wilkes' best chance of the game came with 17 minutes left in regulation when sophomore forward Marissa Surdy (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) drilled a shot that hit the post.

The game would remain scoreless until the eighth minute of overtime, when Krista Osbourne scored to give Scranton the win.

Lady Colonels goalkeeper Dallas Kendra (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) made six saves in the effort.

Wilkes returns to action on Saturday when it will host Manhattanville College for the 2015 Freedom Conference opener at Schmidt Stadium, with a 1 p.m. start time.
