Wilkes Women's Soccer Clinches #2 Seed with 1-0 win over Manhattanville
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's soccer team celebrated senior day with its fourth straight 1-0 win, a victory over Manhattanville College at Schmidt Stadium on Saturday evening, clinching home field advantage in the first round of the upcoming Middle Atlantic Freedom (MAC Freedom) tournament in the process.
The Lady Colonels finished the regular season 5-2-0 in MAC Freedom play and 7-10-0 overall.
Wilkes came out of the gate pushing on the offensive end, notching five shots before the Valiants had one. The Lady Colonels best chance of the first half came in the 35

Wilkes scored the lone goal of the game in the 52

Dianna Connor (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) corralled a pass from junior
Emily Sutton (Shavertown, PA/Lake Lehman) and shot over Manhattanville's goalkeeper from 20 yards out for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Senior
Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) made five saves in goal for her fifth shutout of the season.
The Lady Colonels held a 16-11 shot advantage, with a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.
Wilkes returns to action on Wednesday when it will host DeSales University in the MAC Freedom semifinals at Schmidt Stadium at 7 p.m. The Lady Colonels defeated the Bulldogs by a 1-0 final at Schmidt Stadium on October 22
