Wilkes Women's Volleyball Finishes Season with Tri-Match Split
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes university women's volleyball team finished its season with a tri-match split, beating Penn State-Harrisburg 3-0 before falling to Rutgers-Camden 3-1 on senior day at the Marts Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Colonels finished their season 12-21.
In the opening match, junior
Madison Scarfaro (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) led the offense with eight kills while senior
Ally Paskas (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) finished with seven and junior
Grace Boyle (Andreas, PA/Marian Catholic) added five. Junior
Alexis Morgan (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) led the passing attack with 25 assists.
Freshman
Juliet Betke (Poplar Grove, IL/Belvidere North) led the defense with 14 digs while Scarfaro added four blocks.
In the nightcap, Scarfaro and freshman
Jamey Mikovich (Nesquehoning, PA/Panther Valley) led the offense with 10 kills while Boyle contributed eight. Morgan again led the way 32 assists.
On the back line Mikovich led the way with 16 digs, while Paskas finished with 13 and Betke added 10. Scarfaro again added four blocks while Mikovich and senior
Abby Sanders (Allentown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) contributed three each.
